About Me

I am currently studying towards a Masters Degree in Structural Engineering with Architectural Design at Heriot-Watt University down in Edinburgh. Although this takes up much of my time I still like to indulge in my other hobbies of photography and art, especially when I have some time off during the summer months.

Growing up on the picturesque Shetland Isles was probably the main reason why I got into photography, as I was surrounded by beautiful scenery every single day. With rolling hills, sheer cliffs and pristine sandy beaches it certainly provided plenty of opportunities to get a good snap! I got my first camera when I was just a little boy and have gone through several since then, however it was only recently that I bought my first proper Digital SLR.

This has allowed me to really start taking photography more seriously, as I finally have the kit to capture the raw beauty of Shetland without compromise. From there creating my own website seemed like a natural progression to be honest, as it gave me a fantastic platform on which to display my work. Although it is still in its infancy the site has already attracted thousands of visitors and I just hope that it continues to grow over the coming months.
